Heavy equipment Mechanic
Salary: CA$30.00 - CA$50.00 per hour (based on experience)
Our client is a heavy equipment supplier specializing in new and used piling, anchor, tieback, compressors and limited access machines. They offer technical support, rentals, sales, RPOs, tooling and wear parts. We are currently looking for self-motivated full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is enthusiastic, hardworking and driven towards success.
Duties:
Assembly and disassembly of any or all components and accessories on large drilling equipment and foundation piling equipment; including but not limited to hydraulic cylinders, hoses, lines, pumps, and controls; undercarriage assemblies; gearboxes; final drives; operators compartment assemblies, and equipment electrical components utilizing mechanics hand tools and power-driven tools.
Welding and fabrication repair of steel components for drilling tools such as drilling buckets, augers, core barrels and other ground engaging tools and piling equipment a plus.
Work will take place both in the field servicing clients and in the shop in Aurora
Perform thorough diagnostic testing of mechanical and electrical systems to isolate potential problems.
Write detailed service reports, look-up parts, and complete parts order requisitions and other related paperwork.
Safely and efficiently assemble and disassemble drilling equipment for inspection and repairs.
Load and unload machines, tooling, and accessories going out to clients.
Completes check in / check-out inspection sheets for rental equipment.
Notifies Service Manager of suspected customer damage immediately upon identification. Completes quality control service tags when inspecting rent equipment.
Experience working on heavy construction equipment with an emphasis in electronics, CAN-bus wiring, hydraulics, power trains, is desired.
Read and understand hydraulic and electric schematics a plus.
Requirements and qualifications:
Must be able to travel internationally – some travel to the US will be required on occasion for service calls, some travel within Canada will be required for service calls and some international travel to Europe and Asia to our suppliers for training may be required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract
Able to lift up to 100 lbs
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
Able to operate a forklift
