Senior Industrial Energy Coach
Salary: $110-140K/year
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Energy Coach to assist 10-20 industrial facilities with energy management and energy eHiciency targeting the manufacturing, resource processing, and agricultural sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with their assigned customers and answering questions on how they can approach energy management activities. For example, they may provide advice on developing, implementing, and managing energy reduction strategies to optimize energy consumption and reduce costs. The candidate should have senior engineer-level experience in diverse areas including design, industrial operations, maintenance, and commissioning. The candidate should have on-site experience.
The senior industrial energy coach will do the following:
Develop energy optimization roadmaps with assigned industrial customers focusing on equipment and energy management practices
Prepare energy analysis such as variability and trend analysis
Prepare energy baseline models based on historical data
Prepare energy benchmarks comparing against industry best practices
Prepare energy performance metrics such as energy intensity related to production
Assess energy management practices such as energy policies, alignment to corporate strategies, employee engagement, maintenance procedures, procurement, etc
Present the above analysis to facility management using change management methods
Meet as required with facility management to implement and adjust the energy optimization roadmap
Monitor and communicate the energy performance metrics as needed to optimize energy use
Monitor improvements in energy management practices such as policy development, procurement procedures, equipment maintenance, etc
Meet virtually every month individually with their assigned customers to answer questions
Meet virtually or in-person with their assigned customers in group settings, and lead the group sessions with charisma and engagement
Review their assigned customers progress on completing the Strategic Energy Management training offered by the SEMI program
Strategize on potential energy saving opportunities
Review capital project plans from an energy management perspective and suggest improvements or areas for further study
Continually update knowledge and keep informed of new developments in the field of energy engineering and strategic energy management in industrial facilities
Provide technical guidance and support to team members
Contribute to corporate business development and client-specific projects
The senior industrial energy coach will need to have the following qualifications:
10+ years of energy management experience
P.Eng. or Registered Technologist
Work experience in industrial plants or experience with the installation and commissioning of industrial capital projects
Experience with industrial systems and processes such as pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, thermal energy systems etc.
Existing network within trade associations, engineering firms, equipment supply chain, etc.
Knowledge of strategic energy management, industrial decarbonization, and participation in industrial sustainability
Preferred: Credentials such as CEM, CMVP and experience with ISO 50001
Sufficient knowledge in the industrial application of energy savings analysis and Measurement and Verification (M&V)
This may be the ideal job for a retired industrial plant manager or another individual with lots of industrial site experience
